Acoustic fabrics are used in offices, public auditoriums and theaters, convention centers, schools, churches, hospitals, restaurants and clubs, spas, salons, fitness centers, home theaters, exhibitions, trade shows, and the list goes on.

"Widespan" or extra wide acoustic fabrics are most often used for ceilings, seamless corridors and stairwells to save labor and reduce installation costs as well as to enhance lighting and spatial volumes.

Until recently, there was no domestically manufactured widespan acoustically transparent ceiling and wall fabric designed specifically for stretchwall and other surface applications.

At the request of several acoustic panel and track system manufacturers in North America, SURF was developed to improve on the performance of imported widespan fabrics at a significantly lower cost.

As a result, SURF has several additional advantages, including greater stability, better coverage, a smoother surface, standard soil-release finish, better color consistency, and lower custom color minimums. SURF has been found by contractors, specifiers and clients to offer superior performance in a market where previously there was no choice.

SURF upgrades the industry standard for widespan fabric performance in a track system, outperforming thinner, stretchier fabrics that tend to pucker along the track, especially in a raking light.
